Balch Springs, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A former Balch Springs pastor pastor will spend the rest of her life in prison in connection with the 2015 starvation death of a 2-year old boy.
52-year old Aracely Meza (ar-ay-say-lay may-zah) was sentenced to 99 years after being found guilty of ordering Benjamin Aparicio to fast because she believed him to be possessed by demons.
Jurors saw an hours long video of Meza in her home church, cradling the toddler’s frail body while praying in Spanish and speaking in tongues, for God to bring the toddler back to life.
Benjamin’s parents were afraid to report the incident because they were in the u.s. illegally.
