DCCHS Director Forced Out of Department

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Longtime Director of Dallas County Health and Human Services is no longer holding that position.

Zach Thompson was reportedly forced out of the department at the end of 2017. Our media partner, WFAA-TV reports that Thompson was forced out amid sexual harassment allegations. The health department tweeted that Thompson was no longer the director as of December 29.

Thompson led the department through the brief Dallas Ebola scare over three years ago. He will be replaced with Interim Director, Ganesh Shivaramaiyer.

Dallas County Judge Clay Jenkins released the following statement:

Zachary Thompson gave notice in 2017 of his retirement to be effective on January 31 of this year. Yesterday, January 3, 2018, Zachary Thompson was terminated from Dallas County. Ganesh Shivaramaiyer is the Interim Director of Dallas County Health and Human Services.
