
Fort Worth, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – The numbers are low compared to Dallas and other urban centers like Chicago and New Orleans, but murders in Fort Worth have spiked to their highest level in 14 years.
Stats released Tuesday show 70 people were killed at the hand of another in the city in 2017, a 40-percent increase since 2015.
The Dallas Morning News quotes Fort Worth City Councilman Dennis Shingleton who said, “It’s not the image the city wants.
Shingleton added the the numbes raise alot of questions. He said council will look to police chief Joel Fitzgerald for answers. Fitzgerald has been on the job since October 2015.
