A Group of SMU Engineering Students Want ‘Beatrix’ Back

Dallas, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – A group of engineering students at SMU want ‘Beatrix’ back.  Beatrix is a Formula-One style race car they designed and built.

Police say the car was in a trailer in the 5500 block of Dyer Street near Hwy 75 when it was stolen early Tuesday morning.

Thirty Southern Methodist University students known as the Hilltop Motorsports Team, had built the car for an annual Formula S-A-E competition in June. SMU

They say in a Facebook post, “This theft is a huge setback for our team.”

They are asking the public’s help in finding the theives.  Since their initial post there has been an outpouring of support for the effort.
