Denton, TX (WBAP/KLIF) – Weeks after a closed door decision to change a confederate school name, the Denton School Board has now voted publicly to make the change official.
There was public backlash after the board unanimously approved to change Robert E Lee Elementary to Alice Alexander Elementary. Many were upset the change was never put on a public agenda, which prevented citizens from speaking in an open forum about a potential change. The board put Itt on yesterdays agenda…about 10 people showed up to speak. The result was the same a unanimous vote in favor of the change.
