FBI Dallas Asking Public to Help Catch Serial Bank Robber Known as the “Longhorn Bandit”

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The FBI of Dallas is searching for a serial bank robber known as the “Longhorn Bandit”.

The Bureau’s Lauren Hagee said the suspect hit two banks in the Metroplex last month.

The first robbery occurred at the Bank of the West on Irving Boulevard and Story Road on October 18th.

The suspect allegedly handed the teller a note on a deposit slip that read: “hand me all the loose bills, I have a gun.”

“He is using fear to get what he wants. In any of these situations, you can’t assume anything but that he’s telling the truth. So, we’re going to take full precautions. We have to assume that he is armed and dangerous,” said Hagee.

The second robbery occurred on October 26 at the EECU Credit Union on North Little just West of Highway 287.  Hagee said on this occasion, the suspect allegedly approached the teller and indicated he had a gun.

In each instance, the suspect used a dark Chevy SUV as his getaway car.

He’s a white man in his 20s or 30s, approximately 5’10” tall, weighs about 165-180 pounds with a light complexion and brown hair. He has a tattoo on his right calf.

The FBI is offering up to a $5,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.

Anyone with information about the case is asked to contact North Texas Crime Stoppers at 1-877-373-TIPS or the FBI Dallas Division at 972-559-5000.

Tipsters may remain anonymous.
