The Body of Richardson Toddler Sherin Mathews Identified

RICHARDSON (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Dallas County Medical Examiner’s Office has identified the body of three-year-old Sherin Mathews.

Investigators discovered her body Sunday afternoon in a culvert less than a mile from the Mathews home.

On Monday, police re-arrested Sherin’s father, Wesley Mathews, after he changed he changed the details of what happened in the early-morning hours of October 7th.

According to an affidavit, Mathews said his daughter choked on her milk while he was asking her to drink it in the garage.

He said that she stopped breathing and then admitted that he removed her body from the home.

Mathews had originally told police that he had last seen Sherin when he put her outside as punishment for not drinking her milk.

He’s charged with injury to a child. Bond was set at $1 million.

A family court judge ruled on Monday that Wesley and his wife Sini’s biological 4-year-old daughter will temporarily remain in the custody of Child Protective Custody.
