IRVING (WBAP/KLIF News) – A registered sex offender who allegedly targeted underage girls in Grapevine and Plano has been arrested.
The Grapevine Police Department’s Amanda McNew said Irving Police arrested 38-year-old Kenneth Dewayne Roblez on a parole violation warrant in the 3500 block of North Belt Line Road.
The Irving officers identified Roblez based on a Grapevine Police bulletin.
Grapevine Police had been searching for Roblez this week after reports surfaced that he made lewd comments toward two young girls inside a local Target store.
A few days later, a man fitting Roblez’ description made an inappropriate remarks at a Plano Walmart to a mother about her daughter with the girl standing next to her.
The Plano Police Department’s Officer David Tilley said his actions didn’t stop at verbal remarks.
“The following day he went into a Target and found a young girl by herself and lifted up her skirt and ran out the store,” he said.
McNew said detectives, dispatchers and patrol officers worked tirelessly to track down Roblez to make the community safer.
“We do think that he is a dangerous individual and we are glad that he’s off the street. We still ask the community to remain vigilant at all times. We want parents to never let their guards down,” she said.
McNew also credited tips from the public to helping put Roblez behind bars.
