Authorities Say Lancaster Teen Kidnapped, Murdered Over Stolen Drugs

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Four people have been arrested in the kidnapping and murder of 13-year-old Shavon Randle of Lancaster.

Shavon’s body was found in an abandoned East Oak Cliff home late Saturday night after her family reported her missing last Wednesday.

According to an arrest affidavit, investigators said she was kidnapped after the boyfriend of one of her relatives stole drugs from a Motel 6 in Lancaster.

Investigators said Kendall Perkins, the boyfriend of Shavon’s cousin Ledoris Randle, allegedly stole drugs from Devontae Owens and Darius Fields two days before Randle disappeared.

Ledoris Randle told investigators that she received a call Wednesday morning, when someone informed her that they had Shavon and that they would kill her if she called the police.

The affidavit also states that a coworker of Ledoris Randle told her that one of the men that drugs allegedly belonged to was Fields and that he “has a history with kidnapping people.”

After an extensive search, authorities eventually found Shavon Randle and 19-year-old Michael Titus, a person of interest in the case, dead in the abandoned house.

Two men are charged with aggravated kidnapping in the case.

Laquon Wilkerson, charged with aggravated kidnapping for ransom/reward, is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $1 million bond.

Devontae Owens, charged with aggravated kidnapping, is being held in the Dallas County Jail on $500,000 bond.

Darius Fields has been named a person of interest in the case. He’s being held in the City of Irving Jail on unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon and drug charges unrelated to Shavon’s kidnapping.

LaPorshya Polley has been identified as a person of interest. She’s being held on charges drug possession and tampering with evidence charges unrelated to the kidnapping of Shavon Randle.

The Next Generation Action Network is holding a candle light vigil and march for Shavon at 2208 Kiest Boulevard in Dallas at 6:30 this evening.

A GoFundMe page has been set up to help her family pay for funeral expenses.
