DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Plans for a memorial honoring Officers killed in last year’s Dallas Police ambush will be considered for approval by the Dallas City Council next week.
Funding for the sculpture comes from private donors. Well-known Dallas artist Barvo Walker was asked to construct the artwork. The project is estimated to cost $400,000.
“I’m a red, white, and blue guy,” said Walker. “I would love to do it. I think it’s an honor.”
Walker said if approved, the sculpture would be put at Dallas Police Headquarters.
“It’s been approved by the Dallas Arts Commission,” said Walker. “We just need the council’s stamp on it.”
The council will meet June 28.
