(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator John Cornyn has withdrawn from consideration from the vacant FBI Director post.
Cornyn released a statement Tuesday saying that he is committed to helping the Trump Administration find a well-credentialed and independent FBI Director and the best way he can serve is continuing to fight for a conservative agenda in the U.S. Senate.
President Donald Trump fired former Director James Comey last week.
Cornyn said he has always considered public service to be a great privilege.
