DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) — A recent testing of mosquito samples in Dallas County has turned up positive results for the West Nile Virus.
Dallas County Health and Human Services confirmed the virus appeared in samples taken in the northeast portion of the county, just south of Wylie in the Lake Lavon area. They say they sprayed the region Thursday night and will again Friday night from 9:00 pm through 5:00 am.
The county recommends any residents in the area to stay inside during spraying to avoid contamination and to follow the “Four D’s” — wear Deet repellents, dress in long and loose clothing, drain standing water, and limit outdoor activities during dusk and dawn.
