DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) United Airlines is in for a world of suffering following the removal of a passenger from an overbooked flight. Criticism is pouring in from around the globe, and CEO Oscar Munoz has made conflicting statements on the incident. Many of the condemning remarks are from China, where the carrier is trying to grow its business. Citizens there are outraged that it appears an Asian man was targeted for removal. New Jersey Governor Chris Christie announced this morning he’s calling for a total suspension to the practice of overbooking. Ken Jenkins is an aviation expert here in Dallas and he’s even baffled by the series of events that unfolded on the jet. Jenkins said on KLIF News and Information when it comes to asking for volunteers to forfeit their seats, there is no price cap on an offer to encourage passengers to take a later flight. He says the airline should’ve kept upping the deal to get more volunteers before forcing someone off the plane. Dr. David Dao was dragged by crew members from his seat Sunday while blood dripped from his mouth after an altercation resulted in him hitting his head on an armrest. He made claims it was important for him to make his flight in order to meet with patients.
