FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – A jury has handed a down a sentence for a woman who waited six days to call 911 after her grandson was scalded by hot water.
Patricia Flores pleaded guilty in the case. Prosecutors say Flores was running hot water in her bathtub to clean the bathroom.
She left and returned to find her two year old grandson on the floor.
Flores said the boy never yelled. She tried to care for his injuries herself and waited six days to call 911.
The boy died at the hospital.
A jury has now sentenced Flores to 57 and a half years in prison. That would keep her in prison until she’s 101.
