PLANO (WBAP/KLIF) – The City of Plano has launched a new state-of-the-art tag system for animals so pet owners can hopefully find their pets more quickly if they run away.
Animal Control Director Jamey Cantrell says they are the first in the Metroplex to offer the new tags.
“These have a QR code on the back and also a web link so that if someone find the pet they can actually go 24 hours a day and see an individual webpage for that pet that the owner has total control over,” said Cantrell.
There is also an optional GPS device for the tags.
Cantrell says the service is offered at no additional charge to those who live in Plano.
