ARLINGTON (WBAP/KLIF News) Chubby Checker has been doing the twist for nearly 6 decades and he’s bringing the dance to North Texas this weekend. He’s 75 years old, and is proving that age is just a number. Chubby reached stardom after covering the song in 1960 and is coming to Arlington for a one-man show. He is also twisting for a good cause. He says there are 36 children diagnosed with cancer every day, and he’s encouraging his fans to take part in the “Twist Challenge” which helps fund “Mascots for a Cure,” a non-profit to help find treatments for the disease.
