(WBAP/KLIF News)  Tacos may become the new official dish of texas. A change.org petition suggests it’s time to change the state food. Chili con Carne has been the official dish for the Lone Star State since 1977. Taco author Mando Rayo, who launched the petition, told the Dallas Morning News that the taco is more diverse than chili and better represents Texas. He claims tacos originated in Texas before it joined the union and that many Texans eat tacos five days a week.
