DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) A Texas senator from Dallas wants July 7th to be a day of remembrance. That’s the day four Dallas police officers and a DART officer were shot and killed in an ambush during a protest against police violence. Senator Don Huffines filed a bill to recognize the date as “Fallen Law Enforcement Officer Day.” All 31 state senators jointly authored the bill. Huffines says the bill also comes after the murder of a Harris County sheriff’s deputy two years ago and the murder of a San Antonio police officer during a traffic stop.
