FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF) – Fort Worth Mayor Betsy Price has reached out to the mother whose arrest last month has sparked division and protests in the city.
Price says she does not agree with the ten day suspension given to Officer William Martin, but she stands behind the police chief.
“I hope we will be able to speak and find ways to heal,” said Price. “And that they will be able to feel welcome in this community that we all love.”
Price said she would like nothing more than to erase the pain that was caused.
Price made her comments after footage from the officer’s body camera was recently released.
All charges against Jacqueline Craig and her daughters were dropped Thursday.
