DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Good news and bad news for some diners. A popular Dallas restaurant is doing away with tipping. The catch? It’s also increasing menu prices by 20%. “Canary by Gorji” in North Dallas became the first restaurant in the city to eliminate tipping. Chef Mansour Gorji told WFAA he was inspired by restaurants announcing the same policy earlier this year in New York and San Francisco. He claims eliminating tips will help close the pay gap between his wait staff and kitchen workers. Gorji says so far, the system is working well and he has no plans to go back.
