PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) The city of Plano is on board for a high speed rail line between Dallas and Houston. The city council voted 7-1 to adopt a resolution to support the project. City spokesman, Steve Stoler, told the Dallas Morning News that the city believes the project will help alleviate traffic along Interstate 45. Texas Central, the private company developing the line, says it wouldn’t extend all the way to Collin County, but that residents there would benefit by simply jumping on a DART train to Dallas where they can get on the Houston-bound train. Most cities are in support of the project, leaving mostly rural communities in opposition, which take issue with private land being used to lay track.
