DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News)  A Dallas grandmother was arrested for leaving her 4-year-old grandson behind at a Walgreens. Police say they found Amparo Rodriguez-Valdez passed out at home surrounded by open containers of alcohol.  A witness claims Rodriguez left the boy in her van during a beer run when he started screaming. The woman says she brought the child inside and confronted Rodriguez who told her she left the boy behind because she can’t control his behavior. The woman refused to hand the child over so Rodriguez left the store without him, according to the Dallas Morning News. The boy’s aunt showed up later, and told officers Rodriguez called her to let her know she left the boy behind. Rodriguez was charged with abandoning a child without intent to return.
