Dallas (WBAP/KLIF News) – Major Thomas Castro of the Dallas Police Department says good detective work led to the arrest of a murder suspect. Lonzell Hunter was wanted for the shooting death of Martha Teran about 6:00 last Sunday evening.
“Southwest Patrol officers, along with Task Force officers with the US Marshall’s Service, arrested Hunter,” said Castro. “A Capital Murder warrant for Hunter, with a $500,000 bond, has been signed.”
Castro says Teran had gone to the Medieval Times restaurant parking lot to sell a cellphone. Hunter allegedly took the phone and shot Teran, who died at Parkland Memorial Hospital.
Police advise people selling items through online classifieds to meet somewhere in public to make the sale, and if something doesn’t feel right, end the sale and leave.
