TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) Senator Ted Cruz is missing some backing from home. Senator John Cornyn says he will not endorse the former presidential candidate if Cruz runs for the Senate in 2018. Cornyn also said he has no plans to sign off on Representative Michael McCaul in the primary, either. It’s unusual for senators not to endorse their fellow party-members especially when they are each from the same state. Two years ago, Cruz declined to endorse Cornyn in his 2014 primary campaign. Cruz’s relations with his fellow Republicans have chilled since his bitter name-calling approach on the presidential campaign trail. He also angered much of the GOP when he refused to endorse Donald Trump after the billionaire won the nomination for president.
