FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – Attorneys for the Irving teen whose homemade clocked sparked controversy will be in Dallas Monday to announce a new lawsuit.
Lawyers with Hutchison and Stoy in Fort Worth plan to file a federal lawsuit on behalf of Ahmed Mohamed, 14. They claim his civil rights were violated in Sept. 2015 when he was arrested for bringing a clock, which looked like a bomb, to school.
The incident prompted outrage from some who claimed the teen was profiled for being a Muslim.
A civil suit seeking $15 million is pending against the City of Irving and the school district.
Mohamed’s attorneys will announce the new suit in a press conference at 10:00 a.m.
