DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News)  A military veteran from New York came all the way to Dallas to thank police officers. Billy Richards was in the Marine Corps and the army. He wanted to do something in support of police after the recent shootings. Dallas was his most recent stop on a cross-country mission that’s what he calls the “Thank the Police Tour.” Richards ran with an American flag from the Jack Evans building in Dallas to El Centro College and back. He’s hit 22 cities so far where he runs around the precinct with the flag, then gives it to the local police department, along with a hand-written “thank you” note including the names of everyone who has helped him along the way. He has a Go Fund Me page that he uses to help finance his journey and the flags he buys.
