DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – Dallas Area Rapid Transit is looking at ways to make up for the lost pay to injured officers from the Downtown Dallas ambush on police.
Morgan Lyons, with DART, says unlike the City of Dallas they do not have a program in place that makes up the 30 percent of pay lost under Texas Worker’s Compensation.
“We’re trying to find someway to try and make up some of that difference,” said Lyons. “It’s something we’ve been working on in the last couple of weeks.”
One of the injured officers has already returned to work but two remain out on leave.
The attack three weeks ago was the first time a DART officer’s life was taken.
