MESQUITE (WBAP/KLIF News) – The City of Mesquite passed nondiscrimination guidelines that some fear will lead to transgender bathrooms.
Two council members voted against the proposal. “The language is not specifically required,” said HR Director Rick French. “The EEOC, however, is looking at these cases and is trending toward potentially making these protected classes in the future.”
Council stressed that the policy change had nothing to do with bathrooms, and instead dealt with nondiscrimination when it comes to hiring and employment.
