DALLAS (WBAP-KLIF) – A Dallas city council member is again talking about ending the city’s red light camera program.
Phillip Kingston calls it “a racket”, and says most drivers ticketed don’t intentionally run the light. He says it’s primarily due to inattention.
Kingston supports having a referendum in a city-wide vote to see if citizens think the program is a worthwhile public safety expense.
In the last fiscal year, Dallas issued 1,445 red light citations. Of that number almost a third were dismissed.
