TEXAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – The U.S. Supreme Court approves of how Texas draws its legislative districts.
The decision is typical, according to UNT Political Science Professor, Dr. Kimi King of how the court has viewed the one person, one vote rule going back to the 1960’s.
“The reason why that rule has been so scared over time is because of the concern about vote dilution. The idea that one person’s vote in one district counts more than another person’s vote in another district.”
The Justices voted unanimously to approve of the Texas plan.
