DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The number of homeless people living in the Dallas “Metro” area continues to rise.
More than 3,900 men and women admitted to being homeless in the latest survey, which was taken last month. That’s a 24-percent increase compared to a year ago.
Of that number, more than 700 live on the streets. The survey was taken in Dallas and Collin counties.
Dallas officials are working to close a “tent city” under Interstate 45 near downtown. They hope to have it cleared out by the first week in May.
