(WBAP/KLIF) – Senator Ted Cruz of Texas is blasting republican rival for president Donald Trump in the aftermath of comments from Trump and the terror attacks in Belgium.
“Even Barack Obama hasn’t gone as far as arguing for withdrawing from NATO the way Donald Trump has,” Cruz said following the attacks. “And the way to respond to terror attacks is not weakness.”
Cruz, who trails Trump in the GOP delegate count ahead of Tuesday night primaries, said the United States and NATO should join forces and destroy ISIS.
Donald Trump, during a Monday night town hall on CNN, had said the United States should not decrease its role in NATO but decrease its spending. The comments came just hours before the Brussels attacks.
