AUSTIN (WBAP/KLIF News) – If Governor Greg Abbott has his way, all school children in Texas will have access to high-speed internet by 2018.
The governor announced his ambitious plan at the South-By-Southwest Festival in Austin on Thursday.
The state will partner with a national non-profit group “Education Superhighway.”
They’re already working with 38 other states to upgrade infrastructure and find ways to meet connectivity goals.
Governor Abbott said if “Texas doesn’t quickly move forward on this project, the state could fall further behind in education.”
