Police Beef Up Patrol in Uptown

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – Business owners in the Uptown area of Dallas will hire more off-duty police officers to keep visitors safe.

Beginning in March, “Uptown Dallas Inc.” will pay for four additional uniformed off-duty officers to patrol the bar-heavy area, which would bring the total number of cops in the area to seven.

Two already patrol on bikes and one in a car.

Officers be there during nighttime hours trying to head off trouble before it happens.

The initiative will continue until the money runs out.
