PLANO (WBAP/KLIF News) – The Plano City Council has voted unanimously to extend its juvenile curfew for another three years.
The ordinance restricts minors from being in a public place without adult supervision between 11:00 p.m. and 6:00 a.m. on weeknights, and between midnight and 6:00 a.m. on weekends. It has been in place since 1994.
Police Chief Gregory Rushin told council members that it has had a positive impact.
Over the past three years, 76 minors have been issued tickets for violating the ordinance.
State law requires cities to regularly evaluate their curfew rules.
