Suspected Gang Member Pleads Guilty in Slaying of Arlington Martin Football Player

FORT WORTH (WBAP/KLIF News) – A 21-year-old man has been sentenced to 30 years in prison for killing a North Texas high school football player.

Devin Holland pleaded guilty Friday to one charge of engaging in organized crime/murder and two charges of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

According to court documents, Holland shot Carl Wilson, 18, at a car wash.  Wilson was a senior at Arlington Martin High School.  Investigators said Wilson was about to fight one of Holland’s fellow gang members when he was gunned down in front of about a dozen witnesses.

Holland accepted a plea bargain in the case.
