KAUFMAN COUNTY (WBAP/KLIF News) – A couple from Kaufman is facing charges of torturing a 13-year-old boy with special needs as punishment.
Christi Howell, 40, and her boyfriend, Casey Shackleford, 45, held the teen down, poured water over a towel on his face, and bound his genitals, according to police.
Court papers said it happened after the boy admitted that he had inappropriately touched the family dog.
Howell is being held on a $250,000 bond for injury to a child.
Shackleford turned himself in on Thursday morning.
The teen is currently in the custody of relatives.
