LEWISVILLE (WBAP/KLIF NEWS) – Two cities that draw a large percentage of their water from Lake Lewisville have unanimously voted to send a protest letter to the Bureau of Land Management over a proposed lease that could include gas drilling.
Lewisville and Flower Mound are worried the proposed auction of 250 acres of lakeside property will result in drilling they fear might contaminate their water supply.
Dallas and Highland Village have already protested, and Denton is expected to join.
The Bureau of Land Management says it should have a decision by April as to whether or not the lake can be leased.
