GARLAND (WBAP/KLIF NEWS) – Monday is the last day debris from the Garland tornadoes will be picked up and hauled away by city crews.

But a lot of that debris can’t be picked up curbside; like refrigerators, washers and dryers and flat-screen TVs. So, the City is asking residents to take those large items to a local recycling center. The rest can be put out at the curb for pickup.

The E-F 4 tornado on December 26th left behind 45-thousand cubic yards of debris, the City says if you pile that end on end, it would be 25 miles long.

More than 100 homes were destroyed by the twister in Garland and nine were killed.
