Wells Fargo Donates $100k to Support Tornado Recovery Efforts, Reversing Certain Fees for Customers Affected

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)- North Texans are still recovering from the tornadoes that ripped through the Metroplex on October 20th.

Wells Fargo is donating $100,000 to support recovery efforts to those affected. Ruth Villalonga with Wells Fargo said they’re sending $50,000 to the American Red Cross and the other $50,000 to the Dallas Education Foundation. “We recognize that the recent impacted Dallas will take significant time and community support…we are committed to assist our communities, our customers in times of need as we work together to help our city move forward,” said Villalonga.

Villalonga they are happy to support DISD’s foundation after the tornadoes left schools severely damaged, and hundreds of students without a school they call home.

Villalonga said they are also helping Wells Fargo Customers who were impacted by the storms. “We are reversing certain fees including late fees for lending products including credit cards, personal loans and line of credit,” she said. Villalonga urges these customers to call customer service and explain your circumstance.

The Insurance Council of Texas has estimated about $2 billion in insured losses from the 9 tornadoes that touched down in North Texas.
