DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF News) – President Donald Trump announced via Twitter that acting Homeland Security Secretary Kevin McAleenan is stepping down, after only six months.
According to President Trump McAleenan’s decision to resign is to return to the private sector and spend more time with family. Following the announcement, Vice President Mike Pence tweeted “Thank you Kevin McAleenan for your dedication and service to our country! You have done great work securing our border and we are thankful for your continued support of President @realDonaldTrump and our entire Administration.”
President Trump tweeted “Congratulations Kevin, on a job well done! I will be announcing the new Acting Secretary next week. Many wonderful candidates!”
