Presidential Candidate Julian Castro in Dallas

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF)-Presidential Candidate Julian Castro is in Dallas speaking at an event as one of the finalist for the Texas Working Families Party Endorsement.

Castro says he stands out as a candidate because of his  executive experience having served as the San Antonio Mayor and as the U.S.  Secretary of Housing and Urban Development.

“I have a track record of being in charge of something and getting things done,” he said.

Castro says if elected, his vision is to invest in affordable housing, provide affordable healthcare and raise minimum wage.

Castro said his focus over the next 12 days is to continue momentum and make sure he gets into the September debate.

He presented his ‘working families first’ proposal that calls for  a wealth inequality tax. “To invest in things like universal child care and universal pre-k…things that can lift people up in the 21st century,” he said.
