Benbrook Plaza, Built in the 70’s to Get Major Improvements

BENBROOK (WBAP/KLIF)- The city of Benbrook is giving one of its oldest plazas a makeover. Benbrook Plaza is over 40 years old and will undergo some improvements. Hillary Cromer with the Benbrook’s Economic Development Corporation said they will add new features to the outside to attract businesses and visitors. “We have a lot of businesses coming onto the Blvd. currently investing a lot of money with an eye toward incentivizing improvements that revitalize the center and attract new tenants,” Cromer said.

Some improvements include a brand new exterior façade, LED lighting along walkways and accessible access to shops. Also improvements to the parking lot by adding islands and landscaping. “We want to improve customer’s experiences at the center with these walkways and awnings,” she said. The Plaza’s Owner, CJ Real Estate by Hayden Cutler Company estimates the project to cost about $1.3 million and the EDC is incentivizing up to $400,000.

It’s expected to be completed by December 2020.
