Mavs Dancers and Mavs ManiAACS to Go Bye-Bye

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The Dallas Mavericks are overhauling its in-game entertainment team, replacing the dancers and Mavs Maniacs with what it’s calling a new family-friendly “entertainment squad.”

The team says it’s holding an open-ended audition this summer for talent that includes tumbling, dance, illusions, stunts, comedy, ventriolquists, dancing animals, and other unique talents.

Current dancers, mascots, and drumline will audition, as well as any local talent in North Texas.

Mavericks CEO Cynthia Marshall said when she took the reigns last year that she wanted to limit the dancers’ sexualized performances.

The auditions are July 13th.
