FORT WORTH – WBAP/KLIF – Fort Worth’s first responder service “Medstar” earns rare “gold star” accreditation from the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch. Only 2 percent of 9-1-1 first responders earn this. Medstar already has a thumbs up from another commission overseeing America’s first responders, making Medstar’s accomplishments very unusual; in fact, one of just 2% of the entire country.
The academies say Medstar earns the “gold star” because of it’s call taking processes, use of specially trained nurses in the call center, and Medstar’s quality assurance review program.
