Texas’ U.S. Vote Against Blocking President Trump’s National Emergency

Washington (WBAP/KLIF) – Twelve Republican senators backed a Democratic effort spear-headed in the house to block President Trump’s emergency order — neither of Texas’ two U.S. senators was not among them.

Senators Ted Cuz and Jon Cornyn voted against the resolution with the president has vowed to veto.

The vote was 59-41 in favor of blocking the order.  That said, there are not enough votes in either chamber of Congress to override a veto.

Meantime, the Washington Post reports that Senator cruz and two other Republican senators went to the White House to try avoid the Senate defeat last night.
