Ground Stop Causes Headaches at Both DFW and Love Field

DALLAS (WBAP/KLIF) – The FAA issued a temporary ground stop at both DFW Airport and Dallas Love Field Wednesday after smoke was reported in a radar room that serves both airports.

Both DFW and Love Field show a list of delays and cancellations Wednesday afternoon because of the ground stop.

“Air traffic controllers were forced to evacuate from the DFW Terminal Radar Approach Control, which manages airspace across most of North Texas, after a report of smoke in the building, possibly from ongoing construction work,” the FAA said in a statement Wednesday afternoon.

The issue is expected to cause delays for much of the day.
