Continued Growth Prompts Construction of New Fire Station in McKinney

MCKINNEY (WBAP/KLIF) – Ground was officially broken Friday on site of the next fire department in McKinney.

The station will serve the fast-growing Trinity Falls community and is part of a strategic plan to best protect all areas of the city.

“The City of McKinney is growing very quickly and so is the McKinney Fire Department,” said McKinney Fire Chief Daniel Kistner. “The design of Station 10 came with a lot of important input from our firefighters.”

The 16,000-square-foot facility will sit on three acres, include three apparatus bays and will accommodate up to 10 firefighters. There will also be a community room for use by the public.

Fire Station 10 is expected to be completed in spring 2020.
