Fallen Little Elm Police Officer Honored Two Years After His Death

LITTLE ELM (WBAP/KLIF) – Thursday marked the two year anniversary of the day Little Elm Police Detective Jerry Walker was shot and killed in a standoff with a gunman. The Little Elm Independent School District is doing its part to ensure Detective Walker’s legacy lives on.

According Little Elm ISD Superintendent, Daniel Gallagher, Jerry R. Walker Middle School will open its doors in August of 2020.

“We want to keep his memory out there for the entire community,” Gallagher said. “It’s really amazing how one person can impact an entire community like Detective Walker did.”

The new school will be located at 633 French Settlement Rd.

“633 is the badge number for Detective Walker, so it is fitting to have the building addressed 633,” Gallagher said.

Gallagher said countless students and future generations will be able to honor and respect the sacrifice of Detective Walker for decades to come as they enter the doors of the Little Elm ISD middle school.
