Smoke from California’s wildfires soon could be noticeable in DFW

Dallas (WBAP/KLIF) – The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration says the normal west to east wind patterns over the United States could carry California wildfire smoke across the country, affecting all of north Texas including the Dallas-Fort Worth area. Some computer models show the smoke is likely to reach the east coast. However they also show it will disperse as it moves eastward, so forecasters are saying it’s likely to be no more than a light haze here. The air quality in many California cities is officially “unhealthy.”
